Community Engagement

Throughout the year, student volunteers from the club host weekly sessions at Dance St Andrews, a local dance school, and Lawhead Primary School. These classes allow younger members of the community to enjoy dance as a great exercise form and to learn different ways to express themselves through movement. Through the sessions, students are able to develop their coaching style and enhance their leadership skills and confidence.

Charity Fundraising

The Dance Club are committed to supporting causes that do great amounts of good, both within the immediate community and further afield.

Linda Tremble Foundation

Last year, the club donated £250 to the Linda Tremble Foundation, a charity that supports people in Scotland who are facing eating disorders of various forms. The money was raised through ticket sales for the club’s competition and Highland Fusion’s annual show, A Touch of Tartan.

The club also operates a food bank donation point to support St Candrews, a student group that works to help those facing food shortage within the local community, runs coffee mornings to raise funds for charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, and is a strong supporter of the University’s annual RAG week.
